How many phases in the Illinois quarantine?

According to Gov. J.B. Pritzker we are in phase 2 of Restore Illinois. But what is phase 2 and how many phases are there until we restore Illinois?

The answer might be of surprise but there are 5 total phases in the restore Illinois document that was published.

Phase 1 = Rapid Spread- (very strict stay at home orders and social distancing guidelines.)

Phase 2 (Currently in as of 5-6-20 until 5-29-20)= Flattening (Non-essential retail stores reopen for curb-side pickup and delivery. Illinoisans wear masks when outside the home.)

Phase 3 = Recovery ( Manufacturing, offices, retail, barbershops and salons can reopen to public with capacity and other limits and safety precautions)

Phase 4 = Revitalization (Gatherings of 50 people or fewer are allowed, restaurants and bars reopen, travel resumes, child care and schools reopen under guidance from the IDPH. Face coverings and social distancing are the norm.

Phase 5 = Illinois Restored (With a vaccine or highly effective treatment widely available or the elimination of any new cases over a sustained period. Conventions, festivals and large events are permitted, and all businesses, schools and places of recreation can open....)

Somethings that stood out in this plan were.

  • Facial coverings and social distancing will be the norm until phase 5.

  • We must be in Phase 4 for child care and schools to reopen!

  • Until a vaccine or highly effective treatment is widely available we will not reach Phase 5.

As Illinoisans we must do our best to practice great hygiene and if sick to stay at home to not infect others so we can return to phase 5 as quickly as possible. Our economy is at a brink and the faster we can return to normal the better for our lives and well being.

I have included the .pdf file from the Restore Illinois plan and read for yourself as it goes into detail about what is essential and non-essential businesses.
